A drink on us :0)

I've been thinking a lot about the beverages we will be having at our wedding. I've come up with lots of Ideas with many inspirations from   http://www.weddingbee.com/ , http://pinterest.com/ , and http://www.theknot.com/ . I so enjoyed my project searches! We will be serving a few differant alcoholic beverages. Mr. J and I do not drink but we have talked a lot about it and we have lots of friends and family that do enjoy it and....who knows we might just cut loose on our wedding day. So here are a few Ideas and Inspirations.

I really like this Idea and my FMIL, Aunt, and Grandmother have quit a few of these
So there will be more of a selection . Here are a few recipes I've come up with.

Sweet Pineapple Strawberry Spa Water..Yum

Ingredients:
~1 Cored  Pineapple
~1 (large) carton of Strawberries
~Ice and water

Directions:
~Wash and slice fruit.
~Layer ice and fruit in a large beverage server
~Fill beverage server with water
~serve

White Sangria

This sangria takes five to 10 minutes to assemble in a large pitcher. Take the time to prepare it in the morning so the sangria has several hours to develop its fruity flavor.

Ingredients:
~3 tablespoons sugar
~3 shots calvados or other apple Liquor
~1 lime, sliced
~1 lemon, sliced
~2 ripe peaches, cut into wedges
~3 ripe green apples seeded and cut into wedges
~1 bottle white Rioja Spanish wine or other dry white wine
~1 pint raspberries
Sparkling soda water, for topping off glasses of sangria at the table.

Directions:
combine sugar, Calvados, lime, lemon, peaches and apples in a large pitcher.
Cover with 1 bottle of Rioja wine and chill sangria several hours. To serve, spoon fruits into glasses or goblets, adding a few fresh raspberries in each glass, pour wine over top of fruit. Top glasses of  sangria off with a splash of soda water and serve

Cocktail that never fails

~1 bottle of wine for every 3 cans of Fresca, and fresh fruit..

Cucumber Lemonade

Ingredients:
~1 cucumber thinly sliced
~1 (12 ounce) can frozen lemonade concentrate
~1 (2 liter) bottle of lemon-lime carbonated beverage

Directions:
Put the cucumber slices in to large picture, pour Lemonade concentrate over cucumbers and allow to sit for 10 min. Pour in the lemon-lime soda and serve.

Do not forget the beer on tap:0)

And is This not the cutest Idea ever. I'm excited about the mason Jars
with name tags. These are just some of the things We will have to drink and don't forget the
Sweet-tea! I can't wait to see how it all turns out.

Birdcage veil...capture your personalty :0)

The birdcage veil is a Glamorous accessory for any bride. This veil first become popular in weddings during the 1940s, but its use faded for many years. for the last few years, the wedding veil has made a comeback, showing up in bridal magazines and movies. for the birde on a budget (I happen to be one) a cage veil can be made for around $30 or less using French or Russian netting , a pretty hair comb, and a few accessories.

Birdcage veil adds a glamorous retro touch to any outfit, but is is especially elegant on a bride. Think of the look modeled by famous celebrities such as Reese Witherspoon in the movie that we all fell in love with, the touching and down to earth Sweet Home Alabama back in the year 2002. These accessories will give you a new yet vintage look to your outfit. Initially and notable, many people were taken aback at this bold new style sweeping across the country. Eventually people got used to this trendy fashion accessory. For something so stylish, birdcage veils are relatively easy to make and personalize to have the exact length and look you want.

How to make a birdcage veil all your own.

supplies
-Millinery netting in your choice of width
-Hair clip
-Ribbon that matches the color of the netting
-Glue
-Thread and needle

1. Determine where you want the hair clip of the birdcage veil to sit on your head. For me, I want it to sit slightly towards my right and slightly forward, so that the veil will angle down across my eyes and nose. From here, I Myself will be using the 12". Cut is at approximately 30 inches in length along the non-finished edge.

2. Glue the ribbon to one end of the clip, wrap and glue at the other end. The reason you will do this is to have something to stitch to.

3. Stitch the corner of the netting to the corner of the clip. I use the corner of the finished edge on the bottom of the veil (the part that will be touching my face).

4. Take your thread and weave it in and out of each netting hole. You'll go up one of the cut edges, across the other finished edge (the side that does not touch your face) and down the other cut edge.

This drawing shows the overall cut shape of the veilling and the small line going around the edge represents where u will weave the thread in and out of each diamond hole.

5. pull the thread tight gathering the netting. go ahead and try in on to see if you like how it lays, fits, falls, etc. Make any necessary adjustments now.

6. If you are satisfied with the look of it, stitch the other finished corner from the bottom of the veil (side that touches your face) to the corner of the clip.

7 Make a few stitches through the gathers onto the length of the hair comb for extra reinforcement.

You can make you birdcage veil just about anything you want it to be, put your personality in there!!! Have fun!

Is Pixie hairstyle for a bride...Taboo?

Hello all.  I feel a bit challenged by people on the hole you have got to grow your hair out for the wedding, and I'm not pointing fingures because its not just one or two people but quite a few.  I love my pixie do and so does Mr. J. I like the way it makes me feel and I love how easy it is to fix. It complements my edgy style and that's what I love about it. It also complements and frames my round shaped face. But there seems to be some sort of taboo about having super short hair on your wedding day. Do brides have to have long hair? You could be forgiven for thinking so, judging by many of the photographs of brides advertising wedding dresses. And when you do a Bing search for pixie wedding hairstyles and Ideas you come up short handed.

Well, it is not always the case. I decided to do a little research to see what I could find about what I'm calling a bad taboo. Back in the 1980s, punk fashion meant more than one bride walked down the aisle sporting a short cut, even if she had to tame her spikes for the day. And earlier on, in the 1960's, gamine actress Mia Farrow showed how feminine a short pixie cut could be. And to my surprise of course, she wasn't the first delicate featured actress to sport a short-but-feminine haircut. in the 1950s, Audrey Hepburn cut her long hair in the movie classic Roman Holiday. She also showed how to style it with a bit of a curl, to it the kind of feminine edge that looked right with the princess outfits, when she played her royal role later in the movie.

For a more modern take on the super-short cut, Emma Watson's new pixie style is a good example. Yes this is the chick that plays Hermione in the Harry Potter movies. She recently chopped off her schoolgirl locks for a more modern short do.

A lot of women think that short styles don't suit them, but for some too much hair does them no favors at all. And as far as I'm concerned I'm one of those some. In my opinion no one should be worried about this look being too harsh for my wedding. So for those of you who are opposed to my having super short hair on my wedding day...Well I've got 133 day to grow this mess out and I don't see it happening. So lets all agree to disagree. And I will the sporting my pixie cut all the way down the aisle to marry my wonderful FI who just so happens to love the way I look.

“For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others; for beautiful lips, speak only works of kindness; and for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone.”

Choices Choices and what will i choose???

Good morning Friends, Family, fellow bloggers, and Sisterbees. Today I am going to http://www.facebook.com/pages/Event-Rentals-Inc/294186380649210 It's the day to start making some decisions...I'm very excited!

So first let me go on about my tables and table setting..I'm pretty sure I want to go with Brown and an Aqua color but I'm also liking maybe green or purple instead up Aqua. If you would like to give your input your more than welcome.

By looking at these pictures I was just wanting to make a decision on the color table cloths I will be renting. My wedding is going to be a backyard wedding so I'm not looking for super elegant.  I have quite a few inspirations on center pieces That I will be sharing later so stay tuned. I will more than likely go with two or three different ones...I'm not really the type to go all matchy  matchy so It would be natural for me to have quit a few diff looks on centerpieces . As far at table lighting goes I'm mason jar obsessed As Mr. J's aunt Lisa calls it. So....there will be quit a few mason jar lanterns. Love Love Love those things..lol
Ok so enough about the tables...I'm going to need a cake strand and I'm liking the Wrought Iron look. These are the three that I have to choose  from.

Now I will also be renting my chairs...Here is whats on my mind. I would like to have just a couple of pews in the front row of the ceremony for the mine and Mr.J's parents. And I'm soooo In love with these chairs.

Here are a couple of other things I'm thinking of renting. I think these would be so cute to sit around and hang my Jar lanterns on.

Well there we are on the things I will have to chose from...I will let you guys know in a later post how things went. Bye Bye for now.

May 4th 5:00pm
Well Its getting later in the day and I still haven't made it to my destination. Looks like I will not be getting there today. Mr. J and I are now planning on making the trip tomorrow to make our choices.

Mr. J, Kase and I went to have lunch to day and were planning on meeting my mother At Event Rentals to make some choices and The closed at noon. No Joy...Maybe Mon.
